It's been a crazy week....

Our new home...

This week we moved out of our house we were renting into an apartment. We are happy with the apartment and are relieved to have a place to live. The last month has been crazy with our former landlord. About a month ago our landlord decided that she needed her house back so she told us we had 30 to move out. So we found an apartment we liked and were about to sign a new lease. Just before we were about to sign the lease we called our landlord to let her know we would be moving. Our landlord then said she was getting a new job in Denver and that we could just stay in the house, so we decided not to get the apartment. Then a few weeks later our landlord says she doesn't like the job in Denver and will need to move back into her house within 30 days. I was not to happy about this because the apartments that we like go quickly and I thought we would have a difficult time finding a place that we like. Luckily the apartment was still available and we are happy to be here. It has 3 bedrooms and is about the same size as the house we were renting, and we don't have to put up with carpet in the bathrooms. It's also a new apartment, it was built last summer. We are finally able to walk around in our new apartment and have unpacked a lot of boxes. I don't know how we have accumulated so much crap over the years but we also have a garage full of stuff. We moved all our stuff in one day. I had the Uhaul truck at 7am and the Elders Quorum President and 4 missionaries helped out for about 3 hours. I had everything boxed up so the move went pretty fast. My Elders President said that he recently helped move some people and on one move he had to go in and box everything up and on another move he helped with he knocked on the door and woke the people up. It's funny how unprepared some people can be. Of course our move had to have some drama. We had gotten everything moved and I was over at the house cleaning and Jamie was at the apartment with all 4 kids. I just knew that something bad would happen with all our stuff all over. Jamie calls me and says that Kyla is bleeding and has cut her hand and Ethan was picking his nose and is bleeding all over the place. I'm sure that Halle and Caleb are crying too so we have total chaos. So we take Kyla into the Emergency room and she has to get 5 stitches on our hand, but she was so brave and was such a good girl. So that is the story of our move. We are professional movers and this will be the 6th place we have lived in since we have been here in Colorado. (We lived in two different hotels for a few weeks.) But we are happy and are having a good time here in Colorado and are keeping busy with the kids. The kids are getting so big and Ethan is now in kinder garden all day everyday and Kyla is in preschool for 3 days a week. Halle wants to do everything that Kyla does but still acts like a baby. Caleb is a good boy and is growing.

  1. Your apartment looks really nice. You will need to take pictures of the inside, too. We are so grateful you had help from the ward! It sounds like you handled all the chaos pretty well! Hope to see you soon.

  2. Ugh! Moving is just the worst and it sounds like you won't forget this one since you had a trip to the ER! Hope that your apartment is good for your family!
